The River

April 12, 2018

From the highest of the mountains,

The head water starts,

Source it gets from the melting snow every summer,

Unaware of the journey that'll unfold,

Not sure about places I'll go,

But I must keep In mind that wherever the course flows,

I shall follow,

For a river I am and I have to flow.

One stream meets the another,

The small tributary it is known,

Many of those when together,

Make me prime for my arduous journey ahead,

Ready I have to be for all sorts of terrains ahead,

Marshy, rocky or simple plains,

For a river I am and I have to flow.

Wish I could stop by,

Enjoy the exquisite locations I go through,

The nature's treasure.

Of Mountains, forests, greens and waterfalls,

But I have to maintain my pace,

For I am not a stagnant water,

For a river I am and I have to flow.

Many tributaries join and many distributaries branch off,

Many gorgeous sights I get to view and apprehend,

Wish I could stop by and spend some time,

But,

For a river I am, I have to flow.

I will flow till I loose my name and form,

To mingle with the mighty ocean that I know,

For a river I am and I have to flow.
